Car history: |
08/23/2014 I thought I would be done with this car by now. I have had this car since approx. 1988. The car is a Georgia car and as far as I know this has been a southern car all of its life. Marriage, kids, college, and a move are now forcing me to pass this on to someone who can finish it.
This is a numbers matching car that has the original 350/270HP motor. This motor and all the work under the hood was performed by Williams Corvettes in Sumter, SC. They also put new brakes, calipers, rotors and lines on this car. They also installed a new radiator and fan. I also had all new fuel lines installed by Richards Corvettes in Moncks Corner, SC. Mechanically this is a very nice care. Now it is time to do the cosmetic work. The original exterior color for this car is War Bonnet Yellow and the original interior is saddle. When I purchased the car it was already red. There is some body work that needs to be done. Please see the pictures of the two cracks around the fender area and then the fiberglass around the parking light bezels in the front. Looks like someone pulled up on a curb a few times. When looking at the interior, all gauges were removed and completely rebuilt by D&M Restorations in Greenville, SC. They were then brought back to Willliams Corvettes and reinstalled.
I have a notebook that comes with the car that has all the documentation of the work that has been done on this car. I did not add it all up again but I believe the total was around $7,000.00 when it was all said and done. The car has only approx. 200 miles on the rebuilt engine. The rebuild was done between 2005-2006 and since then I crank the car, drive it around the block and put it back in the garage every month or so. I also drove it on the interstate approx. 30 miles and back home.
Exterior: I have the back bumpers, parking light front assemblies, Stringray emblems, rocker molding, the piece that covers the windshield wipers, and inserts that go behind the front wheels. I can not think of anything on the exterior that is missing. Even though they are not on the car I have all of those pieces. I have a new set of chrome exhaust bezels that are still in the box.
Interior: I do not have the cover that goes over the parking brake, carpet, door panels or the compartment covers that go behind the seats. I do have the rest of the molding, t-top liners, kick panels, and detail that covers all gearshift hardware etc. Some of these pieces are black and some are saddle. I also have a spare set of Rally Wheel Caps. |
